Christantus Uche Ignites Dominant Palace Triumph at Shelbourne.

Despite embarking on their maiden European adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are learning very quickly. Without star players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the London club left Dublin with a commanding result that all but guarantees them a spot in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.

Another victory in their upcoming fixture against Finland's KuPS should be enough to seal straight passage to the last 16, particularly after a prior setback against Strasbourg.

Squad Members Seize the Opportunity

This match provided a chance for some of Palace's lesser-used talent to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second start after arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a well-taken finish. Striker Eddie Nketiah added a second, scoring for the second consecutive match.

The Shelbourne side that had concluded their league season were no match even for a largely second-string Palace lineup. The visitors were already depleted by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are out with leg problems.

Control Asserted from the Start

In spite of torrential rain in Dublin, Palace rapidly took control. A flowing passing sequence in the 11th minute, initiated by Daichi Kamada's clever pass, allowed Nketiah to lay on Uche for a straightforward tap-in.

Youngster Adam Wharton came close minutes later, driving a powerful effort over the bar. Nketiah subsequently claimed for a penalty after racing into the box, but the referee waved away the appeals.

The formerArsenal striker didn't need to wait long to find his goal, prodding home from close range after Uche's shot had struck the post.

The home side were clinging on desperately. Defender Kameron Ledwidge was fortunate to avoid a booking for two agricultural challenges on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards struck the crossbar with a powerful header from a corner.

The contest was effectively over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past a series of weak challenges before coolly dispatching a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.

After the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw several players like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse almost scoring his very first touch, only to see his shot blocked.

The youngster was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also blazed a glaring chance, showing there is still room for development in his game.

A solitary worry for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect night for the traveling side.
